Kamala Harris’s Fundraising Frenzy: $200 Million in Just One Week

Daniel Kim Views

Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be a strong candidate for the Democratic nomination in the upcoming presidential election. Her popularity is climbing rapidly.

According to a poll conducted by ABC News and Ipsos yesterday, Harris’s favorability reached 43%, up from 35% just a week prior. At the same time, her disapproval rate decreased from 46% to 42%.

Notably, her favorability surged dramatically from 28% to 44% among independent voters.

In particular, 52% of respondents said that Harris should be the Democratic nominee. Among Democratic respondents, 86% agreed, while only 20% of Republican respondents felt the same. Harris’s campaign fundraising also had significant progress. In just the past week, she raised $200 million, with the supporters over 170,000. Michael Tyler, the communications director of the Biden Presidential campaign, noted, “Vice President Harris’s momentum is real. This election will be very competitive, and a small number of voters will decide it in a few swing states.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s favorability has dropped from 40% to 36% over the past week. His favorability among independent respondents fell from 35% to 27%.
