Vice President Kamala Harris, who has effectively secured the Democratic nomination for president, maintains a slight lead over former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, in crucial battleground states.

A recent Bloomberg poll, conducted in collaboration with Morning Consult, shows that Harris leads Trump by a narrow margin in key battleground states. The online survey, conducted from the 24th to the 28th, included 4,973 registered voters across states such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, with a margin of error of ±1 percentage point. The results were reported yesterday.

Across the seven key battleground states, Harris received 48% favorability, while Trump garnered 47%.

Bloomberg noted that Harris’s support level is strong, especially compared to President Joe Biden’s (Democrat) performance before he withdrew from the race when he trailed Trump by two percentage points.

Specifically, Harris outpaced Trump in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin.

In recent polling:

  • Arizona: Harris received 49% favorability, while Trump had 47% (margin of error ±3 percentage points).
  • Michigan: Harris led significantly with 53% favorability, compared to Trump’s 42% (margin of error ±4 percentage points).
  • Nevada: Harris garnered 47% favorability, edging out Trump, who had 45% (margin of error ±5 percentage points).
  • Wisconsin: Harris maintained a narrow lead with 49% compared to Trump’s 47% (margin of error ±4 percentage points).
  • Georgia: The candidates were tied at 47% each (margin of error ±3 percentage points).

However, Trump led in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

In North Carolina, where 706 voters were surveyed (margin of error ±4 percentage points), Trump received 48% while Harris garnered 46%.

In Pennsylvania, with 804 respondents (margin of error ±3 percentage points), Trump received 50% favorability, while Harris received 46%.

Bloomberg explained that “Harris received enthusiastic support among young Black and Hispanic voters.”
