Kim Jong Un Calls South Korean President “Not Sane” in Fiery Response to Nuclear Threats

On Tuesday, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol issued a stern warning to North Korea over its nuclear ambitions, prompting a sharp response from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who derided President Yoon as “not sane.”

In a statement published by North Korea’s state-run newspaper on October 4, Kim was reported to have inspected a special operations unit of the Korean People’s Army in the western region on October 2. During the visit, Kim aimed Yoon’s recent remarks.

“Driven by anti-republic sentiment and a sense of victimhood toward our republic, the puppet Yoon Suk Yeol continuously read a lengthy speech, reflecting the security anxiety and nervousness they are burdened with,” Kim said, referencing Yoon’s address on Armed Forces Day.

Kim continued, accusing Yoon of displaying “bravado” and “aggressive antics,” which he claimed exposed South Korea as a force threatening regional peace. “The world cannot help but laugh at such clumsy rhetoric and ostentatious behavior,” Kim added.

Yoon had previously made a strong declaration during his Armed Forces Day speech, stating that any use of nuclear weapons by North Korea would trigger a “resolute and overwhelming response” from South Korea and its U.S. ally. “The day they use nuclear weapons will be the day the North Korean regime ends,” he warned.

Kim responded by questioning Yoon’s mental state, saying, “Yoon the puppet raised the issue of overwhelming military responses at the doorstep of a nuclear power, raising doubts about whether he is truly a complete person.”

She further warned, “If the foolish and reckless enemies ignore our repeated warnings, and—relying on excessive confidence in the U.S.-South Korea alliance—attempt to infringe on our Republic’s sovereignty through military force, we will unhesitatingly use all offensive capabilities, including nuclear weapons. If such a situation arises, the existence of Seoul and South Korea will be impossible.”
