Recent polls indicate that Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, has a larger lead over former president Donald Trump than a month ago.
According to a joint poll conducted by Reuters and Ipso and released on Thursday, Harris has a 45% support rating among registered voters nationwide. In comparison, Trump trails with 41%, giving Harris a 4 percentage point lead.
In a similar poll conducted at the end of July, Harris was leading Trump by only 1 percentage point, but she has since expanded her margin. Harris was officially nominated as the Democratic candidate on the 19th and accepted the nomination on the 22nd. Despite this, Harris is still trailing Trump in key battleground states that will be crucial for the outcome of the U.S. election.
In the seven battleground states—Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, and Arizona—Trump leads with 45% support, while Harris trails slightly behind with 43%.
