Trump Promises Peace: Can He Really End the Ukraine War?

inews24 Views

Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the upcoming U.S. presidential election in November, revealed that he spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday. Trump shared details of his conversation with Zelenskyy on his social media platform.

Trump stated that Zelenskyy “congratulated me on a very successful Republican National Convention and becoming the Republican nominee for President of the United States.”

He also noted that Zelenskyy condemned the shooting incident that occurred last weekend and the assassination attempt. Moreover, he emphasized the importance of Americans coming together in unity at times like these.

“I appreciate President Zelenskyy for reaching out because I, as your next President of the United States, will bring peace to the world and end the war that has cost so many lives and devastated countless innocent families,” Trump said in a post to Truth Social.

This statement refers to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, which began in February 2022. Trump wrote, “Both sides will be able to come together and negotiate a deal that ends the violence and paves a path forward to prosperity.

However, Trump did not provide specific evidence or detailed plans to support his statements. He expressed opposition to further U.S. support for Ukraine, claiming that if he becomes president again, he would bring an end to the war in Ukraine immediately.
